Elsey Howland

–

Beatrice, Nebraska

In the bright tapestry of life, some people shine brighter and leave an indelible mark in a short span of time. Elsey Mae Howland was one such vibrant, spirited soul, born in Lincoln, on August 9, 2024. Our courageous little Elsey's life, though brief, was filled with joy, laughter, and the kind of boundless energy that only a child could possess. She was a beam of light in the lives of everyone who had the privilege to know her.

Elsey was a living embodiment of joy and fearlessness, always eager to embark on new adventures. Her hobbies were true to her lively spirit, from running straight into the ocean, chasing her sister, to being a dedicated running buddy for her daddy. Her love for animals, especially her chickens and bunny, was heartwarming. The simple things brought her immense happiness, like going to the YMCA, the excitement of going to the carwash, and even the task of emptying the dishwasher, one piece of silverware at a time. Her love for music and dancing was infectious, and her favorite word was 'mom'. Elsey had a unique love for pickles, and her favorite chores included mowing and vacuuming. Indeed, Elsey's enthusiasm and zest for life were truly inspiring.

The center of Elsey's universe was her family, particularly her Daddy and Mommy, Brandon and Sabrina (Fielder) Howland and sissy, Everlee. She is also survived by her grandparents, Brian and Lori Fielder and Mike and Tracy Howland; great grandparents, Ron Saddler, George and Gloria Fielder, Delmore Kootnz, Darlene Brazille; aunts and uncles, Coren (Caleb) Whalen, Brandon Fielder and fiancé Hannah Malone, Justin (Shannon) Howland, Jennifer Howland, and Lyndsey (James) Arnold, Aaron (Alysia) Howland; cousins, Niko Howland, Josh Saddler, Taylor Gabel, Alynn Nickels, and Ryker and Brody Arnold; and a host of extended family and friends. Welcoming her into heaven was her loving dog, Izzy; great grandma, Loretta Saddler, great aunt, Lavon Vonsprecklson and her son Merle; great grandma Lenora Kootnz; and great grandpa, Richard Brazille.

As we remember Elsey, let us reflect on the words of Winnie the Pooh (A.A. Milne), "How lucky I am to have something that makes saying goodbye so hard." Elsey's life, though short, was a celebration of love, joy, and enthusiasm. Her memory will live on in the hearts of those she touched with her vibrant spirit.
