Anne Marie Spilker, 53, of Cortland, passed peacefully surrounded by family on Sunday May 17, 2026 in a Lincoln hospital. She was born on April 25, 1973 to Roger and Judy (Huetson) Spilker. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church (Soap Creek), rural DeWitt. She graduated from Beatrice High School in 1991 and Lincoln School of Commerce in 1992. Anne married Scott Meyers on August 28, 1999, and they later divorced. She worked in travel offices, medical offices, and insurance offices until her health declined.
Anne courageously battled Muscular Dystrophy and was a loving and supportive presence in her family’s life. She treasured her family above all else and held a special place in her heart for her numerous pets. She had enjoyed playing softball, horseback riding, and watching scary movies. Anne is remembered for her strong faith; being a very empathetic and patient listener; and despite her physical limitations—was always interested in other people’s experiences and travels. Anne loved playing, and especially winning, at cards and various games, and very much appreciated everyone who came to visit with her.
Anne is survived by her mother, Judy, and step-dad Dennis Rosene, brother Chris (Jessica) Spilker; nieces, Molly, Gillian, and Ingrid Spilker; nephew, Henry Spilker; step-brother Jon (Melissa) and step- nephew Philip Rosene, and step-sister, Pam (Chuck Stoner) Rosene. She was preceded in death by her father, Roger Spilker (2002).
