Beatrice, Nebraska
Alexander C. "Alex" Sohl, age 23 of Beatrice passed away on May 15, 2026. He was born on October 24, 2002 in Lincoln to James and Melissa "Missy" (Baird) Sohl. He was a 2021 graduate of Beatrice High School and attended SCC to receive his certification as an EMT.
Alex was a hard working, kind-hearted young man who wanted to save lives. He started on his path as an EMT with the ambition to be a paramedic and eventually work his way to becoming a flight paramedic. He shared his love of fishing with family and friends even if he had to drag them along. If he wasn't fishing he could be found spending his free time with friends shooting pool at the local bar or playing online computer games. He also enjoyed target shooting with his brother and friends. He was a strong willed young man who worked hard, loved hard, cared deeply for others, and enjoyed making others laugh.
Alex is survived by his parents, James and Missy Sohl of Beatrice; brother, Cody Sohl and fiancé Marly; aunts and uncles, Angela (Donnie) Meyer, Aaron Sohl, Colby Sohl, Amanda (Adam) Hausman, and Jason Baird; grandparents, Pam Holdsworth, and Loren & Teresa Baird; step-grandmother, Patty Sohl; several cousins; and a host of extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Kenny & Mary Lynn Sohl; step-grandfather, Larry Holdsworth; aunt, Valerie Lenz and husband Merwin Horner; and cousin, Jonathan Lenz.
